There's a new financial retirement package out there. Dan want's you to be informed. Its called Guaranteed Lifetime Withdrawal Benefit (GLWB)
its a new financial package for folks worried about outliving their savings and other financial nest eggs.

This is a growing concern out there for folks.

Dan gave me a brochure explaining it and if you want he can get you one too. His company is offering it in a package of Annuity benefits. The brochure he handed me was branded with Ohio National.

Franklin Rouse has created a Facebook page for our NBBN! Make sure you friend it if you have your own Facebook account and invite
all your friends! If you could advertise the June 15th event on Facebook also, create an "event" so you can invite prospective attendees.

As far as referrals go we got many names out their!

Next weeks meeting, June 17th, there will be a 10 min presentation from a prospective new member that uses bathroom billboards in bars and restaurants to display your business, or LCD screens.

Housing and Construction in NHC picking up

Wells Fargo Advisor is seeing parcels

and property assets as inheritable items causing concerns and bringing him clients, seeks new clients with $200K or more to manage. Interesting sidebar about new World War II Memorial in Washington DC and a gathering of vets at ILM airport before they take off to visit this new national monument. Also a sidebar about a Teaching kids to play Golf program that is reaching 7000 participants (school age kids) in NHC (teaches golf and leadership (like eagle scouts does) skills to youngsters)
Sun Trust Commercial Relationships Manager sees commercial properties being finished (a new Health Spa) and some becoming vacated (an OB/Gyn is vacating)
BlueTone Media is developing new websites for a local inventor and a national NASCAR quizgame
Sun Trust Mortgage Loan Officer discussed some business-related goings-on of some new businessmen and women (members involved in the new gym opening up??) with NB Magazine and Coldwell
Rhodes Law Offices reports back about meeting-and-greeting place (new Best Western) getting its drink and soda machines installed and looking at possible calendar dates in June for us NBBN to
have an event [do we have a title for this event yet? "NBBN-Free Appetizer Meet and Greet?" do we have a guideline for what kind of guests we want to invite and how best to advertise the invite?]
NB Magazine told an amusing tale of two businesses next door to each other named Tango and Mango (I have no idea what the business is that these two partners once did together that they now do separately, feel free to edit this entry).
NB Chiropractic sees new gym as a much-needed and appropriate business in this area
Asset Storage provides B2B storage and space needs (think garage bands practice and shipping fulfillment workspace) along with the more usual self-storage needs of residential customers, including boat storage
Gottcha Covered reports a really positive uptick in the finishes of new home builds in recent weeks and landing their business with his high-end American-made window finish accessories. Also reports the recent departure of one of only three OB/GYNs leaves a second floor vacancy and where will 176 pregnant women now go for these needs. (The remaining OB GYNs will be swamped)
Coldwell Seacoast Realty gave example sales in Magnolia Green (an eleven year old upscale subdivision) and has had three closings in a single day recently (she normally likes having 20 actives so is seeking more homes to sell)

Seasonal and current business trends driving their individual businesses at the moment

Website company is gearing up for spring: seeking wedding-related websites and customers
News-item-Over 4000 NC Corporate Charters have been revoked this year; ensure that your customers that you have business with dont have a suspended or revoked corporate charter. Most are due to non-payment of the nominal annual fee.
Largest automobile insurer in NC is now actively seeking home owner policy customers
Truck rentals for out-of-state movers and storage needs for these customers, including boat storage
SunTrust is grooming an out of state big business customer that is setting up in this town with all his business account needs, credit cards etc. (he stated name of business, but I didn't catch it)
Rhodes Law Offices seeks knowledge of who is the developer/builder for the Knolls on Mount Misery Road
Sun Trust Mortgage currently is seeing more refinances than new mortgages at this time. He mentions that he likes to turn "nos" into "yeses" for customers who can't secure mortgage loans with his competition. Also seeing inordinately expensive rates from his competition (e.g. a loan available at 4.738% but the customer is being charged higher at 6.5%) lets him get more business
NB Chiropractic sees change in the outdoors weather for the better is bringing in lots of weekend warriors that might have overdone it and injured themselves (Coldwell Seacoast Realty grinned and agreed with overdoing it)
Carolina Specialties-T Shirts a segment of the current business is school uniforms, school fundraising t-shirts, school activities and sports specialties primarily at the middle and high school level. Also Colleges are buying for summer programs and marathon t shirts for the recent shell Island marathon. (when asked, yes he can do USB flash drives, but that item is expensive these days compared to the profit margin)
Gottcha Covered was pleased with a recent success in landing a bid for a cadre of new homebuild window blinds and roller shades orders, affirmatively answered question about being able to custom retrofit windows and blinds into a vintage home.
Coldwell Seacoast Realty gave example prime listings of 2 or three homes in the ($150k - $230k) range that once weren't available at this lower price point. One market stressor in real estate is brand new built home vacancies over saturated at the moment is driving down prices on existing home resales. Considers sell market is currently at "aggressive" low prices, good time for purchasers. Mentioned neighborhoods: Echo Farms (e.g. an $190k home) and The Arbors (e.g. an $165k home).

Justin has found the “bagel shop” thanks to Denise.

We are sorry to see Denise go but she has taken a promotion in Raleigh.

Civic Groups, Mom’s Group, etc could make a great guest, maybe not a new member but would get us the opportunity to meet more local opportunities. Lets see if we can get a few to come to a meeting.

Jimmy has gotten us some opportunities with Eddie Romanelli's (Flat Eddies) for a visitors/meeting the neighbors event. Need to try and get this all together at the next meeting.

Donnie Grooms gave a great presentation on short sales, giving a lot of useful tips that some of us didn't know.

Interest rates are in the 4's right now if anyone needs construction done.

Thursdays meeting was a good one with Paul being the only one not there.

Michelle did an excellent 10 minute presentation. Up next this week is Donnie. We had no guests this week, we need to make more of an effort to bring in more guests, maybe chamber members, cleaning, financial, carpet cleaners, and/or handy men.

Don't forget to gather the money everyone has made in the 4th quarter from BNI!

Happy New Year everyone! Our first 2010 meeting was a calm one. With the recent holidays, everyone needed to get back into the swing of things and their was no presentation this time.

Next BNI meeting we will be gathering all of our financial information from sales pertaining to BNI to show the public how much money we actually do make from our groups. The number should be significant and we are all looking forward to the results.

This afternoons BNI meeting was overseen by Toby Picanti and we also had special guests Nick Arbia with ADT and Tricia Ann Delp with CORE Physical Therapy.

If anyone knows any photographers or computer hardware specialists, then try and bring them in! It would be a nice addition to our group. North Brunswick County will be having their business expo soon if anyone would like to sign up. North Brunswick Chamber is also having their Christmas party tonight!

NBBNI Meetings will resume after the holiday season on January 10, 2010. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
